The saucepan comes equipped with a clear, tempered glass lid fitted with a stainless steel rim. The transparent glass allows you to keep an eye on your cooking process (checking boil levels or simmering status) without lifting the lid and letting crucial heat and steam escape. Features an integrated steam release vent. This helps prevent liquids from boiling over by releasing excess pressure while keeping your food moist and juicy. The lid is topped with a matching soft-touch, heat-insulated Bakelite knob, allowing you to lift it safely while cooking on the stove.
The heat distribution of the Pyrex Optima saucepan is one of its core performance features. The pot is constructed from forged aluminum, which offers an excellent thermal conductivity. Forged aluminum is thicker at the base and rims but lightweight overall, allowing the heat from your stovetop to spread rapidly and evenly across the bottom and up the sides of the pan.
The thick base diffuses the heat to eliminate these spots. The uniform temperature across the entire surface ensures that all ingredients cook at the exact same rate. Aluminum retains heat exceptionally well. Once the pot reaches the desired temperature, you can lower the stove’s heat setting, and the forged aluminum will maintain a steady, uniform cooking temperature, saving energy.
