While you are assembling the main torso, the internal structure houses a hidden space containing small LEGO pieces that represent other Toy Story characters in simplified stud form. On one side, you build a tiny micro-representation of Woody and Buzz Lightyear. On the other side, you build Jessie and Bullseye. Right in the center, there is a printed round tile with a strawberry graphic, a nod to his signature strawberry scent. Once the outer pink-and-white panels are snapped into place, these details are completely enclosed inside the body.
Lotso can be displayed either standing up or sitting down. To change him into the seated position, you have to pop his legs off and remove two curved pink belly panels to expose the secondary sitting joints.
To keep you from losing those two removed belly panels, LEGO engineered a feature where you can remove a large canopy panel on Lotso’s back, place the extra pieces inside the torso structure for safekeeping, and snap the back plate right back on. It acts as an integrated storage compartment built directly into the character’s body.
